Cure for Acid Reflux With Diet
The proper acid reflux diet does have a place on
a natural cure website so I have included it for you
to review. Although I personally don't believe this bs, to much
acid is not the problem. See the Cause of Acid Reflux and the
natural cure for acid reflux pages.
Certain foods and lifestyle tend to promote gastroesophageal
reflux so below is a list of foods to avoid:
Coffee, alcohol, and calcium supplements are stimulants of
gastric acid secretion so avoiding these helps. Foods high in
fats and smoking reduce lower esophageal sphincter competence
so avoiding these tends to help as well. Having more but
smaller meals also reduces the risk of acid reflux as it means
there is less in the stomach at any one time.
Also avoid:
eating for 2 hours before bedtime
sodas that contain caffeine
chocolate and peppermint
spicy foods like pizza
acidic foods like oranges and tomatoes
fried and fatty foods
The best acid reflux diet is the alkaline diet since
alkalinity buffers acidity in the body. A person would just eat
at least 80% of his foods from the alkaline side of the chart
below. The health benefits can be enormous since the body must
be alkaline to be able to absorb nutrients and eliminate wastes
from the cells. I agree with this!
There are two kinds of alkaline and acid forming foods. One
of course is the acids or alkaline substances the foods
themselves contain. The other is the acid or alkaline forming
ability of a food after it is digested. Take for instance a
lemon which is very acidic, but once digested it has an
alkalizing effect in the body. The absolute best foods for the
alkaline diet and to raise body ph are not surprisingly
green.

Other Acid Forming Compounds for The
Acid Reflux Diet
Most prescription medicines and over the
counter drugs can be highly acidic as well. Recreational drugs
and alcohol are also acid forming. Chemicals and toxins that we
use and are exposed to every day at home which number upwards
of 250 also cause acidity, overloading the immune system and
the liver. Disease and the growth of microform's result which
can create even more acidity. Eventually, life threatening
diseases can develop and can result in death.
I would also on the acid reflux diet always
drink plenty of filtered clean water. I myself prefer reverse
osmosis.
